Blind as night, tethered to the soul,
It drifts onward, unaware of its path,
Neither its goal, purpose, or effect.
Just fluttering unstable,
Unsure, unknown of what it's going to become.
A series of candles in a dark room,
Its will shines through its connections,
Its expressions and actions.
A fire within that no downpour can extinguish,
Blue to the extreme,
In every way imaginable.
Yet it never knows where to go,
Where to venture and what to see,
But that is all part of its course.
To explore the unknown,
To conquer challenges,
And to create bonds along the way.
Touch is its necessity, and
Loneliness its downfall.
Affixed on this plane,
It truly is a wonder of its creator,
And a melody of its thoughts.
What is it?
We ask as we look onto others,
And eventually ourselves for the answer.
